Little Superheroes

I’ve met a few

I took One to the Opera

He Fell Asleep.

I Listened to One on the phone for hours on end

All he did was Grumble.

I Played nurse/ maid  For One

He Couldn’t Move .

One had The Heart of a Lion

and crushed me with the pain

One Collected Stones

One Collected Paperwork 

One Collected Guitars

One Collected Shoes

One Collected Feathers 

One Collected Comics 

One Collected Hearts 

Then Threw them away Swiftly

All wearing Masks to Hide the Scars of Life .

All Had Eyes That Could Make the World Sing.

If They only Knew.

Little Superheroes 

All So Strong on the outside

Yet… 

So Vulnerable 

That was where the Beauty lay .

In The Scars

In The Eyes That Traveled way Too Far

In The Insomniatic pacing around 

To Crack the Shell 

I couldn’t do it .

I could see the Real Superheroes:

They Wore Invisible Capes .

What Great experiences to Know these Men 

 But  to Fall in Love with Potential Open Hearts is Not for me

The Strong Man is The Vulnerable Man 

And Vice Versa.

When You Look back at whom You have Loved and Why …

The “Why” Falls away

Like The Masks They put on their Faces

To Hide Their beautiful Eyes .
